Our Story

The Financial Palette was established in 2024 as an Instagram account dedicated to sharing educational content designed to promote financial literacy, particularly within the artistic community. What began as a small, passion-driven project aimed at empowering artists with basic financial knowledge has grown into a thriving community of creatives all working toward one common goal: dismantling the myth of the starving artist.

At The Financial Palette, we believe that financial literacy is an essential tool for artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs to thrive in an industry often defined by unpredictability and financial insecurity. Our mission is to empower individuals in the arts with the knowledge, strategies, and mindset to take control of their finances, break free from financial uncertainty, and build sustainable careers that allow them to continue creating without fear of financial instability.

Through our content, we cover topics like budgeting, saving, retirement planning, and investing—tailored specifically for young creatives. We address the unique financial challenges faced by artists, musicians, actors, and other creative professionals, offering actionable advice that goes beyond traditional financial planning to include strategies for navigating the ups and downs of creative work. We also challenge the "starving artist" narrative by showing that financial success and artistic integrity are not mutually exclusive.

Since its inception, The Financial Palette has grown into a space where creatives can find support, share ideas, and inspire each other to build financial independence. We offer resources to help artists of all disciplines understand how to manage their finances, make informed financial decisions, and leverage their creativity as a force for financial success.

We are committed to fostering a community where artists are empowered not just by their creative talents, but also by the knowledge and confidence to make their financial dreams a reality. Whether you’re just starting out in your artistic career or are already established in your field, The Financial Palette is here to support you on your journey to financial freedom.

Join us in breaking down the barriers that keep artists from realizing their full potential—financially and creatively. Together, we can rewrite the narrative and create a new standard for what it means to be a thriving, financially independent artist.

Hello! I’m Jaden

I’m a painter and financial professional determined to provide artists with the tools they need to succeed in both their art and their finances. Growing up, I had no access to financial education, and my family struggled financially. You can imagine the disapproval when I chose to pursue art as a career.

When I first entered art college, I was filled with excitement. It felt like the dream—getting to paint beautiful landscapes all the time, and then graduate to a life where I could paint every day. The best part? No math classes! But soon, the reality of managing my finances as an artist began to sink in. I started wondering, "How do I actually fund my life with my art?" Because the only thing people ever seemed to talk about when they mentioned artists and money was that they didn’t have any.

That uncertainty about my own future pushed me to learn about finance and money management. What started as a personal mission to understand how to survive as a creative turned into a career. Since then, I’ve taken the Securities Industry Essentials Exam and the Series 65 Exam, and I’m currently studying for the Certified Financial Planner exam. I’ve worked as a financial coach and educator, and have had the privilege of teaching personal finance to auditoriums full of artists.

Through The Financial Palette, I’ve dedicated myself to making financial education accessible for artists, so they can thrive without the burden of financial stress holding them back. I understand the challenges of being both an artist and a professional, and I’m passionate about providing other creatives the knowledge and confidence to manage their money and create without fear of financial instability.

Join me on this journey to rewrite the narrative for artists and show that financial success is not only possible but can coexist with artistic integrity.
